Art Workshops

Alex has been a qualified teacher since 1990 and has taught in a variety of educational settings - from Pre-school, through Primary and Secondary - to Degree course and Adult Education.

She currently takes Art workshop into schools - with her colleague Diane Steadman as A Dab Hand. Together they work in a wide range of media, believing instrinsically in teaching Art for the sake of Art - and are committed to making Art accessible for all learners and participants - whatever age or ability.

In 2005, they were Winners in the Big Draw and were awarded a Drawing Inspiration Award for their community-based drawing project involving local people aged 3 to 80. They were Winners again in 2006.

In 2004 Alex and Diane were awarded a Highly Commended in the same event . Details can be found at:

Alex also works as an Artist in Residence - recent projects include making the Gaudi Garden at Warcop C of E School in Cumbria.
